Strength Characteristics of Clay–Rubber Waste Mixtures in Low-Frequency Cyclic Triaxial Tests

This paper presents the results of consolidated and undrained (CU) triaxial cyclic tests related to influence tire waste addition on strength characteristics two different soils from Southern Poland: unswelling kaolin swelling red clay. The test procedure included normally remolded specimens prepared pure clay (RC) (K) their mixtures with fractions shredded rubber powder (P) granulate (G) in 5%, 10%, 25% mass proportions. All samples were subjected low-frequency loading carried out a constant stress amplitude. Analysis includes consideration effect additive number load cycles development excess pore pressure axial strain during operation maximum deviator value. A general decrease shear due was observed, various effects depended mixture content size particles. In general, use soil–rubber mixtures, especially for expansive powder, should be treated caution loading.
